SonofNero sent in a link to a story that happened in Australia in 2008, so it’s a little old, but still an interesting topic.
It is interesting because it involves a robot actually killing someone. That’s right, a robot murdered a human in cold blood. Why didn’t this get more press? Mainly because the murderbot was being controlled by a man. Francis Tovey of Canberra, Australia had built the robot in response to his family members constantly demanding that he move into an assisted care home. All of their requests made Tovay suicial, so he went to his computer looking for answers.
…Tovey scoured the Internet for information on making a robot capable for firing a semi-automatic gun pointed at his head.
Well, Tovey found what he was looking for. He built his robot and placed it in his driveway. Why his driveway?
…Tovey set up the robotic device in his driveway early on Tuesday because he wanted construction workers at a nearby housing site to hear the gunshots and discover his body.
Everything went as he planned, and a robot performed possibly the first robot execution of a human, but certainly not the last.
Unfortunately the link SonofNero sent me is from a wildly biased pro-life website. I understand this is a topic that many people are passionate about, but this website thinks that everything in the news is pro abortion and they are “skeptical” or “doubtful” toward most everything. Google Ads even found it logical to place ads for Ann Coultier all over the place. For future reference, please don’t send links from such incredibly biased websites of any kind, unless they are biased about how evil robots are.

Interesting story, though in your article the sudden non-sequitor jump to the abortion link sort of threw me off. Maybe the person sending the link through that robots would be performing surgical abortions someday (a somewhat grizzly possibility).
I like the site, and I too fear the robotic uprising. Once machines become aware and can self-replicate, let’s just hope they don’t turn evil.
