Most of them are just research tools that are part of a movement to progressively improve robotics. I think the snake is to research robotic movements in water, the push up robot and iCub are attempts at humanoid robots, I think someone made the Creeper to hand out Halloween candy, the spiderbot is used to study spider-like movement and how it can improve robotic transportation. They other one, labeled gaaah, has no immediate uses that I know of, the picture just terrified me.
